Baseball isn't just a game.
It transforms the mind.
It teaches discipline, work ethic, resilience.
It's a place of personal development.
That's why I feel the urge to play again.
To attempt a comeback.
Not for the game, but for the journey of personal development.
The process shapes you - giving you a deeper perspective on life.
You push through adversity, pain and overcome mental struggles.
When I first signed with the Philadelphia Phillies, I was an 18 yr old boy.
I was scared, insecure, full of anxiety.
Over time, baseball exposed those fears.
I developed the Yips.
The Yips weren’t about the game; they were about my inner fears and anxieties.
Baseball forced me to confront them.
Without baseball, I might not have faced those things at all.
But in order to become a better player, I had to tackle my insecurities head-on.
Baseball accelerates the personal development loop.
Because you're always striving for improvement:
You’re forced to find your weaknesses and face them head-on.
What might take a lifetime can be squeezed into a few years.
Baseball is a dream worth chasing and a craft worth pusueing.
Few people take on that kind of challenge.
But when you do, you find purpose.
A reason to get up every morning and work hard.
That drive turns boys into men.
The struggle, the hard work, and the grit—it’s all worth it.
Not because you might make the big leagues one day:
But because of what the pursuit does for you.
And here’s the truth: The personal development that comes from baseball doesn’t stop when you leave the field.
It carries into your career, your relationships, every part of your life.
Baseball teaches traits that'll make you succeed in anything else you pursue.
So my message to you today is simple.
Pursue baseball with everything you've got.
Because that pursuit - is what'll make you successful in any endeavor...
Baseball, or elsewhere.
