How he gained 8mph

from 82mph to 90mph...

Matt’s transformation from 82 mph to 90 mph in just six months wasn’t the result of a single drill or quick fix.

It was the outcome of systematically rebuilding how his body moved, produced force, and transferred energy.

When Matt first came to us, he was dealing with constant arm pain, poor command, and years of unresolved mechanical and training issues.

His body had accumulated compensations from bad mechanics, ineffective weight room work, and incomplete rehab.

This created a cycle where his central nervous system was constantly in a defensive state, limiting his ability to move freely and efficiently.

The first priority was removing these “guards” by cleaning up his mechanics.

He had an early spine, poor lower-half sequencing, and an extremely late arm, which forced him into stressful compensations like a forward shoulder roll and elbow hike.

By rewiring his movement patterns and improving timing through the kinetic chain, we were able to reduce stress and restore efficiency.

As his arm timing improved, his pain began to disappear.

Matt had never followed a structured program, so we built strength first, then progressed into power and speed.

At the same time, we reinforced new movement patterns through constraint-based drills to help his body accept and trust the changes.

Once his mechanics, strength, and timing aligned, everything started to click.

Velocity and command improved together because both are products of efficient energy transfer.

After 4–8 weeks of consistent execution, Matt hit 90 mph for the first time.

What seemed like small adjustments created massive results.

Because in pitching, even the smallest mechanical change can ripple through the entire system.
