The F*ck It Muscle
Your mind is your biggest enemy.
It's designed to keep you safe.
To avoid anything that feels dangerous.
Every time something is new, uncomfortable or risky:
The mind tries to avoid it.
But here’s the thing: everything meaningful carries some risk.
For a Baseball Player - its the risk of getting injured.
Embarrassing yourself.
Failing to reach your dreams.
The mind will naturally avoid that discomfort.
But the best players I saw learned to say 'f*ck it' and take action.
Think of it like a muscle.
I call it the f*ck it muscle.
The bigger this muscle, the easier it is to take action despite what your mind is telling you.
How do you build this muscle?
It’s simple, but not easy.
Just put yourself into uncomfortable situations and choose action.
When I had the yips, I was terrified of making bad throws.
I'd tell myself 'F*ck It' and make bad throws on purpose.
Over time, my F*ck it muscle grew, and I desensitized myself from the fear.
The F*ck It muscle makes you in control.
Instead of being trapped by fears and doubts - you take action anyway.
You become stronger than what your mind is telling you.
Here’s a truth I’ve learned: courage beats talent every time.
The courageous player will always beat the talented, scared player.
When I was with the Texas Rangers, we had a term for that kind of player—a 'Ball Player'.
A 'Ball Player' isn't the most talented.
He just busts his ass every play, unafraid of what might go wrong.
And these are the guys who made it far, despite the lack of talent.
So my message to you is simple:
Work on developing your fuck it muscle.
Every time you face a hard situation, say “fuck it” and go for it.
This could be the most important muscle you train as a Baseball Player.
Whenever you’re ready, there are 3 ways I can help you:
