Why you'll NEVER achieve your goals as a baseball player
unless you do this
Here's the brutal truth:
You'll never achieve your goals because you’re waiting for someone else to believe in you first.
You want guarantees. You want the "safe" path.
You're sitting around following the 'normal' path waiting for permission to chase your dreams.
You're waiting for:
• A coach to tell you you're good enough
• Someone to "discover" you
Meanwhile, your window is CLOSING.
Look, I get it. When I was 16 throwing 78 mph in Sydney, Australia, literally NO ONE believed in me.
Zero scouts. Zero coaches. Zero friends saying "yeah, this kid's gonna make it to college and play pro ball."
But I was able to get D1 offers and play pro ball...
Because as that 16-year-old who sucked, I made a decision:
I'm betting on myself even if nobody else will.
Because... what's the alternative?
Just... give up?
Let the dream die?
F*ck that.
My partner Albertus?
Dude literally SOLD HIS CAR to train at a facility.
He eventually signed a professional contract when nobody thought he would.
Think about that.
He made the sacrifice because he believed in his potential more than anyone else did.
That's betting on yourself.
The comfortable lie you tell yourself: "I'm not talented... I'm not a genetic freak like him..."
BS, and you know it.
You think you're "not talented enough"?
You think you're "too small" or "not talented enough"?
Cool. Join the club.
Most of us aren't genetic freaks.
But you know what separates the ones who make it from the ones who don't?
The willingness to bet on themselves.
And if you're wondering what 'betting on yourself' looks like, here's some examples:
• Taking the 'risky' path (e.g. not going to a showcase and training instead)
• Being the 'weird' guy (deviating from the norm because the norm keeps you average)
• Dreaming big even if it seems dumb (e.g. going all in even if you suck)
The window for betting on yourself in baseball is TINY.
We're in the most competitive time of baseball right now.
So here's my question for you:
Are you gonna bet on yourself?
Or are you gonna keep waiting for someone else to give you permission to chase your dreams?
Because I promise you - if you don't bet on yourself, nobody else will.
The choice is yours.
I'm rooting for you,
Josh
